Plein Air
These are four pastels I’ve done in different
places while being outside enjoying the view.
I hope the peacefulness comes through in each
scene. In the first one of my own pine tree I
cut out what I didn't want to see and focused
on the huge pine tree and multi-colored sky. The
next one was done on a trip to Ft. Collins, CO
with my daughters and dogs. It was the first time
I saw the Rocky Mountains and I was amazed not
only by their size, but the colors I could see.
The next two were done at my friend Bob's house
in Door county, WI. I did the first one looking
out at the landscape painting what I saw. I was
so relaxed by the next day I painted a reflection
of my feelings. The view is the same.
